Forever Changed International (FCI) is an organization founded to help children without homes have a bright and hope-filled future.
FCI has owned and operated an orphanage outside of Guatemala City that is a pillar in the community, providing children with no place to go a safe home, education, and a greater purpose in life. The orphanage, Dorie’s Promise, often hosts teams of community servants from the United States who perform outreach projects in the community that include activities like feeding the homeless.
The Hagerman Foundation is partnering with Forever Changed International to build a new school from the ground up in the community of Palencia in Guatemala. Together, the two organizations hope to raise enough support in the community to complete the school by the end summer, 2015. The mayor of Palencia is in support of these efforts, and the community of El Trapichito is also backing the project.
The children of the community have historically traveled on foot to get to the closest school—a journey of about two hours. Forever Changed and the Hagerman Foundation are moving forward with a goal to provide these children with a safe place to learn and grow and to execute a forward-thinking approach to address the poor living conditions in the area.
