The McCree Theatre has afforded the community the opportunity to experience theatre for generations. Funding from The Hagerman Foundation gave the “New” McCree Theatre general operating support for its programming, including after-school workshops in dance and drama, and the theatre’s mainstage series consisting of four (4) major theatre productions.
One of the cornerstones of New McCree Theatre is to provide uplifting and inspirational entertainment to the culturally deprived and underserved families of the Greater Flint area by providing theatre that is accessible and affordable. The Theatre is home to many youth and young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds, troubled childhoods, and those with physical and mental disabilities. Allowing underserved youth an outlet to be creative through the arts can offer opportunity for self-reflection and self-expression.
